All I have now are Schneiders. I have one weather beta and it is super nice quality, but my Schneiders are just as nice and cheaper. I buy they euro fit storm shields, they are never more than $100 and some of them I've had for four winters and they still don't have any major issues, maybe a snag or two but no rips. And my horses destroyed other brands in one winter. My broodmares even wear them and don't rip them to shreds. Also the leg and belly straps are replaceable which is super convenient for me.

They actually have different fits for different builds, I think it's called a v free for TB type horses. I have all different builds of horses, and I can adjust the blanket to work for all of them.

Weatherbeetas have gone downhill in quality IMO.

I have never had a weatherbeeta that I didn't love.  I actually still use one lightweight sheet I purchased several years ago.

However, I will only purchase from Schneiders now (unless I find a great used deal from a friend).  Their blankets are very good quality, fit the horses well, last for more then a few seasons, and their customer service is well above average.

A few years ago I pulled out my turnout sheets in the fall and put them on the horses.  About a week later it poured down rain and I realized one sheet was no longer waterproof.  Their blankets have warranties so I called the company.  They also keep great records.  Come to find out the warranty had expired by nearly a year.  They sent me a brand new sheet anyways :)  You cannot beat customer service like that.  I wasn't expecting it.

I have both and use both. Schneiders is a great company and has excellent customer service. I think their blankets are wonderful for the price and have several. But for the really warm and heavy blankets with the neck covers I love the weatherbeeta line. I am a tad dumb and just paid more than I should have to get a discontinued color-the purple plaid. The weatherbeeta's fit my HUS horse so well, I just can't make myself change. He is in the corral all the time this time of yr so they last me several seasons. I pay a lady to professionaly clean all my winter blankets and patch and waterproof them every spring. She replaces any torn straps and buckles as well.

I had weatherbeaters and liked them (they lasted forever). Bought a horse that came with a Schneiders- I liked the way it fit so I bought one. I was supposed to be waterproof - but after 1st year it wasn't at all. I didn't call  (since the warantee said a year) and now kinda wish I did reading the earlier post. I did read on their site that you can buy stuff to reapply the waterproofing - but reading on all the steps sounded like it was a real pain to do.  I don't think I would buy another one.
