Looking to purchase a new barn in California. I am currently looking into FCP and MD Barnmaster. Does anyone have any input on either barn, good or bad feedback? It is hard to decide. Leaning toward FCP because they are made in the US. Any words of wisdom?

We have an MD barn made in the early 1980's. In the late 90's we put metal up on the outside covering the exterior wall as it started to buckle. The barn had been repossessed, disassembled and laid on the ground before we bought it. That's the reason we think the exterior wall buckled. I love the barn. It has outside windows and feed/hay doors and sliding doors for stalls.

I have found that you can get more for your money by going with a GOOD local builder as opposed to a national type company.

I love the MD Barnmaster Barns. Definitely prefer them over the FCP

My husband and I are about to start our barn. Soo excited to move out of the old dairy barn we're in!!
He's doing everything himself. So far, he has cost figured for the roof, it will be an open barn, and to build 5 12x12 stalls. Right at $5000 the barn will be 36x36, with a 2' overhang all around, so the roof is 40x40. The only cost he hasn't factored in yet is the tack/feed room. We'll also eventually pour a concrete aisle.
Our stalls will be similar to the fancy wooden ones. He is welding the metal framing, and they will have wood inserts. He's a DIY type of guy lol, and also verrry frugal. But he's also a perfectionist like me, so I know it will be done "right".
