I have an actual merchant account and accept credit cards for down payments and purchases of horses. I do not use PayPal, but when accepting credit cards it does take a few days for the actual payment to post to my account, even though the credit card transaction has gone through.
I'm sure others on here have accepted payments through PayPal.

A lot of the scammers use Paypal.
I wouldn't use it
Get them to wire transfer the money

I have never used pay pal but have heard about people getting their merchandise then disputing and getting a refund from pay pal. If this is the case you would be out a horse and money.

Of all the legitimate ways to transfer funds, PP would be at the bottom of my list.

I have used it once on a horse we sold out of state. It was just a broodmare and the funds came through before the horse shipper showed up so it worked out but they do take a percentage.

Pay Pal takes a percentage. You would be better off doing a bank to bank transfere.

We just sold a pony this week and did the WalMart money transfer. Super easy. She sent it and I went and picked it up from WM about 15 min later-cash in hand.

I built most of My S10 threw PayPal & always payed the 3% over on transactions because I felt if You did the Gift option they could Scam Ya!!! Other than than Ive never had a problem with em... Ive bought over 10k in products but never a horse threw PayPal... If You dont feel right about it do a Bank transfer or Money Gram/ Western Union... Ive done Money Orders on a few Old Guys that werent into newer technology LoL That worked good also...
