I am boarding my horses (two), and they are turned out with 8 other horses. They are fed twice a day with sufficient amount of hay but I don't believe one of them (bottom of the totem pole) is getting everything she needs. I am currently feeding a scoop and a half of Healthy Edge and adding rolled oats.... But I'm wondering if I shouldn't add either alfalfa pellets, or if anyone has added beet pulp, or soybean meal or any thing else to their feed to ensure they're getting everything needed.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

If the horse doesn't look like it's getting enough I think you should add something. Of the things you listed I prefer alfalfa pellets. Actually, if you could feed alfalfa hay separately I would do that.

Change your rolled oats to a scoop of whole oats, add 1/3 scoop of cracked or chopped corn along with a scoop of alfalfa pellets ... this will amount to 6 1/3 lbs of feed/day ='s 11% protein

Scoop 3 feedings per the above in a white 5 gallon bucket ... then feed 2 1/3 scoops right out of the bucket .. this will mix it up and make feeding easier ..

You will like the glow you get from this if you also have a good worming program .. this time of year Quest is a good wormer to use and then start with ivermectin at Easter time... which is ~90 days from now ...

If you really want to put a bloom on him by Easter ... feed him one cup of WHOLE FLAX SEED EACH FEEDING ... with the items above ...

take note this is all natural proven feed and will cost you less than feeding the Healthy Edge with better results ...

So these horses are all being feed together not separate? Since you said that one is on the bottom of the totem pole, I say that the others are finishing their feed first and running off the one that needs it, I do not feed all my together, they have their own pens..

Sounds about right.
Mine are out in 2 pastures right now, but soon they will be in 1, and I always feed their grain in their stalls. That way I know if they eat everything, and that they not eat what is not meant for them. Is it a pain, sometimes. My old mare takes forever to eat, but it is worth it.
