Alright let me introduce this fabulous appy mare! She is five and she was the first horse I started from complete scratch halter breaking to my attempt in finishing the beast on barrels. I'm more interested in tips and critiques on me and my riding and just anything you see that's my problem. Then see my horse and give me tips on how I can change things up.

On a side note I'm aware of the awful saddle fit. It is resolved. Now one problem I'm having a hard time breaking through is she typically runs her heart out outside but then blows the barrel... Then inside its the opposite! Killer turns then half a$$in it in between. That or I feel she's waiting on me to ride right lol.

Here's a barrel racing music video or us:

And a here is an idea of the training under her and a visual of her responsiveness. *awesome music video also btw* :

Keep having fun on this nice mare while enjoying running in all kinds of events ..
you normally get this chance only once in your lifetime ..

Sooner or later you will choose your event and then will work on your finesse for that particular event ... right now you are just horsing around and having fun!!
and by then you may have an entirely different horse to fine tune on ...

Enjoyed your vids and your youthful spirit !!

That is entirely true... But 90% of my videos are years old. Barrel racing is my life's focus! So much time and money into just furthering myself! But your right I could go do some reining and trail riding one day then make a good run the next on any horse. I'm racing nearly every weekend through the region. Please discuss what I can do with myself although I do enjoy you nice comment. Not entirely what I was looking for:) thank you

Make sure you ride with your heels down and toes up. Your posture is slightly off, your riding reminds me a lot of mine a few years back. You are trying to ride with your body, but you haven't quite grasped the concept(you will soon, it's not something anyone can teach you). Focus on riding quieter, tap/smooch more than kick. It looks like you and the horse are on different pages. I would do a lot of collection work and basics, maybe if you can take a few dressage lessons.

Lol so I have been told by Many people to take dressage clinics... Including Sharon camirillo. I really need to take it to heart! Thank you for your input:D

I've been dying to take some myself.. I tried some dressage about 10 years and I know it can really help with barrel racing. That's just the big thing I noticed overall, because your riding is pretty good, you don't have a lot to work on so really getting connected with your horse and becoming more correct in your riding will make a huge difference, good luck

I can assure you that your posture is fine. You are leaning forward to hussle your horse. Your feet are out in front of you and I do not see your that your toes are pointed down. Carry on.

I have to disagee..her toes are down ,her body is in proper place..she looks pretty balanced  .. if anything just sit a lil quieter. but looks to me like horse and rider are connected more so then alot I see videos of... and the videos show that in every aspect.expecilly the 2nd one.. horse looks happy and you look happy a real BOND.. thats so important ... when competing if possible just a  quieter body and upper body  but some horses need the extra hustle so hard to say on that..

I'm not any good at critiquing. But I also really enjoyed your videos. She looks like a nice mare. You've done a great job with her.... And looks like you've had a lot of fun along the way. I hope you find what you're looking for.
