| I am looking for high quality plain leather headstalls. I want nice thick, soft leather. I don't want cheap, mass produced tack.
Any recommendations? |

| Paul Taylor's - They are like $16-20 and are soft like butter. Mine are about a year old and still feel brand new. They will also only charge you actual shipping :) |

Location: Northwest | Highly recommend Buckaroo Leather headstalls, or any of their tack for that matter. I think it's the very best plain tack. |

becareful, she was kicked out of several barrel racing tack swap pages.....there was several posts going around how she would "trade" for items but sent something totally different and trashy. |

| i consider myself a little bit of a leather snob lol i am very picky about my headstalls and reins.
Buckaroo leather is top for me but its kinda pricy.... so my next ones in line are Smith brothers Love love love.... then weaver PROtack (only!).... NRS makes a Working cowboy line that is dipped in hot oil or heavy oil and those are good.
Cowperson is too stiff for my liking. Its pretty thick. I like thick but I like it to be somewhat easily flexible too...
I see smartpak started making headstalls so I haven't tried them yet but they look good....

Cowperson latigo work headstalls are awesome, and you can custom order however you want.
I also have a Weaver work headstall that is nice! |

Location: Opelousas, LA | BigDWeb.com has some that are very nice harness leather with solid brass hardware. They are not as inexpensive as some of the others listed here but they are well worth the money. |

I'm a total rein snob because it messes with my feel. I've been wanting to try the SmartPak weighted split reins...I have ONE pair of split reins that I like and I found them at a farm store in Starkville, MS of all places. |
