I have a 14yr old chihuahua that has lost al his teeth except 2. He has got to where his breath is so bad. We used to have his teeth cleaned by the vet and that always helped but I can't see paying $145 to have 2 teeth cleaned. I've tried brushing those 2 my self with doggie tooth paste but it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas of anything else I can do/try? I asked the vet but she wasn't much help. He's healthy other wise just got some really stanky breath lol.

See if your vet will prescribe him antibiotics. The odor is due to infection.
