Location: Texas | Building a website is a scary proposition...I have gotten all kinds of information on the internet (info overload) so I'm turning to you guys knowing that you will give me some great advice. Do you know anyone or perhaps a company that is familiar with building horse websites? We horse people sometime speak a different language that others may not understand. :) Not sure what all I want on it but I know I would like it to look professional. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. |

Location: MI | We used GoDaddy and made our own. Didnt know a thing about building a website before, but they were very easy to learn. We like that we are able to go and make changes when we want, and that we have control over it. By using GoDaddy, and having our own domain name, gives us email addresses besides just using gmail or others. Location: KS | I built a website for my folks for their purebred cattle operation a few years ago, we don't use it as much anymore due to selling bulls through Seedstock Plus, but I still try to keep it updated for private treaty sales/advertising for heifers. I used webs.com, its free for a basic site, but if you want to add more pictures, graphs, etc, I recommend upgrading, I think I pay around 40.00 a year. And the only reason I updated it I posted a lot of pictures of bulls, but I kinda started from scratch and designed it myself, Ive changed the look of it once in the last 5 years. Its really pretty simple once you kinda figure out how it works, I looked at other websites to kinda get ideas.

| I used breederoo.com for my website. I've never done anything like this before, but it is very simple. My complaint is that it is almost too simple, it doesn't allow me to make some of the text/font changes I'd like and the menues are not my favorite. It costs me $200/ year.

| We just started building ours on godaddy. I have no real skills but got it started and now my daughter is finishing it up for me. She also did hers for her photography. You can go check them out if you want. It is easy and the price was right.

Location: Canada | I'm on the GoDaddy bandwagon. Our website is built using their templates and it's inexpensive and easy to use. I get lots of compliments on ours so I'd check out there first. |

I second breederoo. I used them for a friend's site and it was easy to use and prompt costumer service (for when I was too dumb to figure something out!)
I recently did another site for my FIL. He balked at the breederoo cost, so I went with Square Space instead. It has been such a headache to try to learn something new! You can see how far I made it before giving up. I'll pick it back up someday....maybe....
