How do you all think a Sharon Camarillo compares to newer saddles like the crown C, double j pozzi, Tami Semas, etc.... Saddles are one thing I really haven't let myself splurge on for fear that I will become and addict. I have an ancient Tex Tan barrel saddle that I had since I was 8 and I still think it is the comfiest saddle ever but maybe thats because I've rode it to death...the fenders are paper thin now. And I also have a Sharon Camarillo that I bought new in 2007. I'm pretty happy with it but I don't know if that is because it is actually nice or its just what I'm used to. I also really like it because it seems to fit a variety of horses. I'm really interested in trying something new or should I just stick with the old faithfuls??? Thanks :)

I love my Sharron Camrillo saddle. I've written in several other brands, but in all I prefer the Camarillo saddle.

I would rather ride in my older (93 model) Camarillo out moving cows or just going for a trail ride then the  Crown C I had.  I really like the Crown C but it hurt my knees just to pleasure ride in.  Traded a friend for a Double J ( not a Pozzi just the regular Double J) and I really like it.

I do not like any of the newer model Camarillo's, I think I am so used to my old one and they just don't ride the same.

I've been a Camarillo saddle lover for a looooong time.  I have an "old" vintage model my daughter still rides in, I like the way they ride and usually fit a horse.  With that said, I've sold all but the old saddle and found myself a Mary Walker-made by Jeff Smith.  That saddle is everything a camarillo is but just a little better.  The tree is a modified buster welch tree-which is a lot like the camarillo and they fit a lot the same-I do think my Walker saddle fits my horse a little bit better.  The difference between the 2?  The walker has a little more swell-higher and wider which tends to be better than the camarillo and A LOT better than the crown C.  The cantle might be a touch higher but not much-makes for a much better/confident seat.  The crown c has a high cantle but there's something about the swells that always made me feel like I was falling forward.  Have sat in a double J-can't remember which one but I did not like the swing of the stirrup's, plus double J seems overpriced for the quality. Just my honest opinion.

I use my mom's old Camarillo as well since it fits lots of horses well and it is really comfy...the one I bought is really similar so maybe are you talking about the current Camarillos that are available? I don't know if its just because I'm out of shape and can't stay where I'm supposed to be but do you feel more secure in the Camarillos during a run or something else?

Thanks for your input! I didn't really even think about the Mary Walker but it sounds like it would be good to look into.

I love the Camarillo saddle but I cant find a horse of mine that it doesn't pinch. I feel more centered in it and with the horse.

I adore my Sharon saddle! It's fantastic and it's an older one to! Her newest line is even better.

I am talking this model... This is not my saddle but very similar.

There is nothing wrong with it I just feel a tad better running in other saddles.  It is my mountain, trail ride, move cows, ride colts saddle.  I wouldn't trade it for anything.?
