I've only been to an Ed Wright clinic and it's definitely money well spent.  I was one of the very last riders to go, and I watched every rider go before me.  I feel like I didn't get AS much one-on-one time but that might be because I was able to apply what I had seen him tell every rider before me.  You can learn SO much by just watching.  He does have a dry sense of humor and will poke a little fun at you to get his point across.  I can appreciate that though.  That's my style of learning.

Kristin Weaver-Brown! Her style really clicked with my horse and we went from the 4D to top of the 2D in a month!

I have considered a Paul Humphrey clinic? I've heard really good things about him. Has anyone on here gone? I'd give my right arm for a Lisa Lockhart but those seem to be impossible. :-(

Paul is  very personable,...he stresses horsemanship at his clinics and has many different types of drills, to help your horse use it's body in a efficient manner around the barrel.

Didn't care for Paul's clinic. Everyone did the exact same thing all day long. He really works your horse. Not always a bad thing, however , not all horses can take the grinding. His exercises are good, but I don't think every horse needs the exact same thing.
Having been to several Ed clinics, I would definitely pick his style over Paul's any day. Ed always has the answer, and caters to the horses needs. Never left an Ed clinic without answers.
Personally, I think Ed has way more horsemanship skills, and way more knowledge.

The Basic Handle taught by Patrick Wyse.
Granted it is not geared to a specific disipline but covers basic training and fundamentals.  These in turn translate into whatever disipline you want to go.
Patrick Wyse is a consumate horseman and an excellent instructor.
His protegee, Sandy Gruniger is also doing clinics now and her teaching style is a little different, however she is an excellent instructor as well.

Has anyone gone to a Kay Blandford? I looked at her website and it doesn't look like she has had any scheduled for a while. I'm on the waiting list for an Ed Wright but am continuing to look at others.

Paul Humphrey puts on a very good clinic that is very focused on horsemanship. Lots of good drills. Great about explaining why you are doing each one. Great teacher and great at working with different horses and riders levels

I may be the only non- Ed follower on the board. I went. I tried. For like a year. It was a mess. His style and my ability/mindset are two totally different things.

Ed style, to my interpretation, is very round, lifty, bendy, got your nose follow your nose. Stick your hands in his ears and lead him around each barrel. Run in straight and pray you don't get dashboarded when he sticks his front end in the ground.

I went to a Charmayne clinic and she turned my whole life around.
I got to go back to my working cow horse background. Outside rein, straight turns working off the hip and ribs, crossing over in the front, setting up the pattern the same. Driving into your spots and sitting down and out. My horses went back to clocking and I haven't looked back. I can't wait to go again.

Yes, once. I really like what Kay does.  She works on horsemanship and having a correct horse away from the pattern.  Then you move on to the pattern.  She knows how to fix big and little things.

It's been years since I have been to an Ed Wright clinic but would love to go back. About what is his clinic costing these days? There is one this summer kinda close to my house that I am interested in going to.

Ed has put his clinics on hold for a while.  He has Lyme's and it is taking a toll on him.

Danny and Vicki Rienhardt clinics are awesome!  The individualized attention will help you so much!  They don't quit till they get you and your horse running together!  Check them out and you'll see great references and a great time at the clinic!!

Went to a couple. Loved it ! Worked on horsemanship, really explained things well. If I didn't get it they helped till I did, but more importantly for me worked on my mind set. Kendra Dickson clinic that is.

We had Troy Crumrine do a few clinics and everyone seemed to leave satisfied. Troy is pretty amazing to watch on a horse.
