Extreme Veteran Posts: 422 Location: Fort Bragg North Carolina	I'm looking at these shims for this pad. All the saddles I have tried on this horse fit like this I'm thinking about ordering shims from CSI website. Which one is best for this horse/saddle combo? Elite Veteran Posts: 1035 Location: TN	It really depends on your horse's back conformation and muscle atrophy. If your horse is built down hill that could be why the saddle is sitting like that also. Classic equine also makes foam shims that you can lay over the pad and under the saddle to adjust as you need to. That is what I use. I had a CSI but sold it because on my downhill, no wither horse it just didn't allow my saddle to sit down on his back enough. Sorry I'm not much help just thought I would bump this back up for you. :)

When I have used a foam on top like you are saying I got dry spots which doesn't make sense my saddle felt level even on a non CSI pad same thing. I have 6 saddles none that fit her and I've spent years trying to find the perfect saddle and I've just decided to go with my best saddle and use shims but not sure which is better in the pic

Elite Veteran Posts: 974 Location: USA	The teardrop shims are designed to fill the dips behind the shoulders and the other ones are designed for horses with a slight swayback per a CSI rep.
