| I have been riding in this saddle since mid summer. It seems to fit everywhere I check it. Bar angle fits well, I can run my hand down underneath it and no tight spots down the length of it, plenty of room for his shoulder. We've had problems fitting a saddle to him when my husband was riding him and he'd always let you know about it. He seem perfectly happy in this saddle and moves out well. But I still keep getting dry spots. I thought it was just my old overly used pad needed to be replaced, so I bought a new 5 star pad. Used it for the first time today and still dry spots.

| In my experience and from the location of the dry spots, it looks like your saddle is bridging which means the bars aren't sitting flush on the horse. So, there isn't enough rock or flex to the tree. Unless your horse is in distress, I probably wouldn't run out and swap saddles...I think the CSI pad might do the trick. |

Agreed. Not all dry spots are the same and whatever I do some horses just have those dry spots right there on their back. I don't think it's too much of a concern honestly, especially if your horse is working really well and isn't sore. |

Location: North Dakota | What does the horse do when you palpate their back? Dry spots with no pain anywhere on a saddle that seems to fit would not concern me a whole lot. |

| I have come to the conclusion, I will have dry spots under every saddle! I am going to let me horse tell me if the saddle doesnt fit. I had my colt SPECIALLY FITTED for a saddle because I was certain mine and the other 1000 i tried did not fit. Guess what, custom fit I KNOW is perfect and still spots here and there. I'm over it.. lol |

| I guess now I am more concerned about the saddle rocking, not so much that it was giving him dry spots as he didn't seem to be bothered. hes had back pain, but further back along his lumbar region, that may be completely unrelated to saddle fit. |

Location: The Great Northwest | Does the saddle lift up off the back with no pad? If it does, it is too wide. It is possible there is too much rock in the tree since you can rock it like a chair.  |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | This saddle is not a good fit, sits to low in the front and the back is sticking up, so I think its too wide for your horse. You need to try a differnt saddle with a different gullet size. Not many pads is going to fix a not fitting saddle, maybe a CSI can help untill you get a better fitting saddle.  |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Buckles - 2016-05-19 12:07 PM So I thought maybe it was bridging at first, but now the more my horse is filling out (had lyme in the fall and lost a LOT of condition), seems like the fit is getting worse and worse and the saddle has too much rock. Just seems like its teeter tottering on his back now when he walks, and really tips up when hes got his head down climbing a hill.
