So this idea just popped in my head. I need extra money and thinking about making healthy dog treats and selling them at the local flea market. Of course they'd be taste tested by my own pups, but if you were out looking around would this be something you'd consider buying for your pup? Like I said, it just came to me. Bad idea and keep looking? I'm not to crafty lol I'd just like opinions of other dog lovers. Thanks guys

A lot of the pet stores sell homemade doggy treats and they are expensive. Give it a try and good luck. There are many doggy treat recipes on the internet.

Heck I'd buy them for my dogs to try. The ones at PetCo and places like that are outrageous and still have ingredients I can't pronounce. If you have friends who would try them for their dogs, you may be able to get a little word of mouth sales going. People (at least around here I've noticed) like to buy handmade/homemade items from people they know and trust vs. retail.

Depending on the price I might buy some if I saw a table at a farmer's market or something. I would be more interested in training treats. About the size of a kernel of corn and softer, not crunchy. I have such a hard time finding these anywhere and when I do they are usually expensive and barely have any real meat in them.

Hmmm I've never thought about those. I made my first batch tonight and my dogs seemed to like them. My picky eater ate two. I'm going give some to my grandmas dogs and see if they like them. This batch was very simple, rolled oats, banana, and peanut butter with parsley for fresh breath. I did try one and they were pretty bland, but my dogs seem to like them. I'm really excited about trying different recipes and seeing which ones my dogs like best. There will be a lot of dog cookies in my house this weekend lol

A show dog trainer gave me a recipe for liver brownies. Dogs were wild about them. A friend sells homemade treats at trade and craft shows and does well $$.

I would definitely buy some. I like to make my own, but sometimes I just don't have the time.

Make the rounds at butcher shops for scraps. It's not hard to dry meat, and dogs love bones.
