| I saw this on fb a couple hrs ago. I think there would definetly be a few wrecks. I'll stick to my on horses lol she can get hot but we've been with each other so long that we go good together. I'd hate to jump on a new horse and go.... |

Location: Montana | I think it would be VERY interesting. Actually, it might make the NFR really interesting because most of those girls are pretty good riders on pretty good horses. Now, if it were me and I'd draw a 1D horse, I'd probably be left at the first barrel, LOL. I plan on making it to that level one day, but I'm not quite there yet. |

| I'd be SOL.
If it was in the practice pen, I'd be OK, but my competitive habits are pretty strong and as soon as I sent that horse to the first barrel, they would kick in and if they didn't fit the horse......can you say monkey on a border collie?
It WOULD provide entertainment but the horses would not appreciate it. |

| I realize this is a joke but it is the same concept as IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Assoc) Although it is a slower pace, you compete on a horse you draw for. No warm-ups, no nothing. Get on and go. Classes include, Horsemanship and Reining or Equitation and Fence work. Definintely shows the horsemanship skills of the rider as an individual. (or lack thereof ) |

| Back when I was showing hunter/jumpers, in equitation competitions, they'd sometimes take the top 4 riders and have us switch horses and jump the course again. No warm ups, no help from trainers, they'd keep us center ring and we had to exchange horses, right there. They called it "catch riding" . Boy oh boy, it was nerve racking to say the least! |

Love it!! Honestly I see a lot of people whose horses are god sends... they probably would not be able to ride a lot of other horses. I also know a lot of VERY good riders who could easily jump on anything and do great. I'm sure those competitions made you a better rider all the way around. |

| I'd be fine with it.
I'd be fine with anyone jumping on either one of my horses.
But way too many people freak out if someone looks at their horse wrong, much less riding it. Not to mention there'd be a few piffed off that the new jockey beat their time! LOL |

Location: Jersey Girl | I think that would be interesting but you would have to do it divsionally. I can't see a 4D rider (like myself) having the ability to ride a 1D horse!! That is an accident waiting to happen!! |

| Well I would assume we wouldnt each bring our own horses and then let other ppl draw them, the rodeo commitees would then have awesome trainers (stock contractors) bring us all comparable horses! LOL Now that would be fun!
I did read an article I think in the AQHA magazine one time that the Miss Rodeo America or someone like that wrote; and I didnt know rodeo queens at the high level do this when they travel to alot of the big rodeos. (The rodeo committee provides the horses for them to ride) It would definately be a challenge at times. |

Yes, most of the time rodeo queens are provided a horse at rodeos so they don't have to haul their own to save $.
At the NFR for Miss Rodeo America, they DO draw for their horsemanship horse. These are provided by the stock contractor as well, which is why it's good practice to get them on horses at rodeos through out the year. You never know what you're going to get. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Some people are excellent catch riders and it would work great. I've been pretty lucky being able to jump on a horse and make a decent run. It's the feel you have. Not saying I would make the same times on the great horses as their great jockeys do, but boy it would be a lot of fun to try. My problem is I've been out of the game long enough my nerves might get the best of me now |

I didn't realize that either, but at our local PRCA rodeo a year or so ago, I really felt sorry for the Rodeo Queen as the horse someone picked for her was horrible. I could tell from the stands he was being a jerk!! I couldn't believe it!!! |
