Did anyone have a destinational wedding that has some pointers? Do's and dont's? We are thinking St. Lucia for the wedding and Antigua for the honeymoon. Anyone been to either?

I haven't been to either, but I got married at Sandals in Negril, Jamaica...LOVED IT!!! I liked that everything was included (all inclusive resort). Our schedule was ceremony at 1030, followed by the reception, then back on the beach with a beer by 1.

The mildly frustrating part was that you don't really plan anything until you get there (like flowers, location on the resort, etc). I went through a travel agent while helped get some stuff planned prior to (like the menu).

I think it depends on the country's rules for residency...I would call the resort and ask them. We went down about three days early I think.

I am getting married in Riviera Maya, Cancun May 7th. I went through Destination Weddings. They are awesome!! They have taken care of everything for me. Only negative thing is I've tripled my budget. lol!!! We are doing the wedding and honeymoon in Riviera Maya but two different resorts. We are going down on Wednesday and getting married Saturday. Main thing to keep in mind is your wedding out of the US is completely ceremonial. You will have to be legally married in the US either before or after.

I am going through Destination Weddings. I'm not sure if it is them or the particular resort but I have everything planned and booked already for my wedding in May. I will do a walk through on Thursday before our wedding to make sure everything is ok and make changes if I want to.
