I am kinda stumped.
My 5 year old mare i have tried like 15 saddles on ranging from semi-full bar and one treeless.
Every single one of them sticks up in the back no matter the pad. Some are worse then others.
Besides the treeless that was the only one that fits her well. Not completely perfect but very well.
I can't afford a saddle fitter right now nor a new saddle. Until my new job starts and a get caught up on bills.
I really don't want to ruin her back by using a saddle that doesn't fit her. And the treeless I can't use because it was my friends who needed it back. Any suggestions?

If the saddle is pinching near the withers, I 'doctored' a saddle pad to relieve some pressure. I took an older Classic Equine ESP pad (but any pad would work) and cut a hole out of it, right where the concho's from the gullet were. That gave the saddle a little more room at that spot where the saddle was pinching. (I hope that this makes sense.)

This wasn't supposed to be a long term fix, but I used for 2 years and it helped.

What thickness pads were you using?

You might need a saddle with more flare in the bars.
