| America is a divided nation. It does not take a presidential election to recognize the increasing gap of ideas. Politics or not, it is a part of our nature to draw conclusions and create perceptions about those different from us. It only takes the slightest contrast to trigger the sometimes ever so slight involuntary response of reservation and judgment. And yet God, the ultimate judge of us and them, objectively and righteously judges the whole creation on the same playing field.
In Psalm 67:1-7. When I read "all nations" or " the nations on earth" v2,4. I think about the political and religious divide that affected the globe during the time this psalm was authored. For a group of people so wrapped up in the nationalistic idea that God would save only Israel, these statements about salvation for the rest of the world are radical ideas. However, if you really grasp the concept of God's grace and blessing, if you truly understand what it takes to " be glad and sing with joy" v4 then you know you cannot let differences get in the way of making known the glory of God to absolutely everyone.
We know what is co ing. We know God" shall judge the people righteously." and " the ends of the earth shall fear Him vv4,7
We know the only formula that stands a chance of bringing peace on earth, let alone in our personal lives, is the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I guarantee you have someone in your life you think will never become a believer. You could probably name some right now who force a giant eye roll, or make your head shake just thinking about them. Do they deserve to miss out on the grae of God? Are the frustrations and discomforts so great to justify not sharing with them God's mercy and blessing.....again and always? That person who has given every indication they will say no needs you to finally let go and continually reveal that God you know.
If we agree with Psalm 67:1-7 that is is a better goal to aim for all people to praise God instead of mediocre "some", how much pride are you willing to set aside to do your past in helping the earth " yield her increase"? V6
Psalm 67:1 God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us, 2 That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.
For it is WITH God all things are possible
Father God, guide me today to do all things that being glory and honor to You. Lay Your hand of comforting, healing , peaceful grace over Doug Smith, family and friends, in his passing. jan Cagle, Tennille Haney, Barbara Cates, Angela Bright, Bobby Snead, Bill Proctor, Virginia Proctor, Tersa Hart, Lord so many more. Give them all and us the courage , strength, to be a testimony and vessel for You. Lord, Lay Your hand of grace over this nation guide us to help others to come to You. The devil has a hold of so many, I DECLARE THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS they ALL be released to You. I pray from my whole heart, that ALL be turned to You this VERY MOMENT!!
