Spinoff of Dishonest Sellers thread

The thread got my curious on a few things. Whenever I was selling a horse in the past it was fairly easy because of where I was the horses got used to a lot! Now I live in a more secluded area and one of our horses has a fear of fast moving cars on the trail, especially coming up behind him. All he does though is tense up and tucks his butt under him; no bucks, no run offs, nothing dangerous but I can see it being scary with someone who hasn't been on the horse much. With an issue like this and you're selling a horse, do you put it in the ad right away or just put "particular vices out on trail" and explain when they email/call you about the horse?

I would be up front and make a comment on the ad, that the horse has been ridden in pastures and secluded areas and is still getting used to traffic in more populated areas. No spooking or runaways .. just very watchful.
We all get used to this with green colts while we haul them to get them acclimated with a lot of new things and I too live in a secluded area on a dead end road where my horses never see a noisy dump truck but pay no attention to freight trains coming by along the east fence line of the pasture ... lol
I just keep riding as if nothing is happening when I feel them tense up and let them listen to me and gain confidence in the rider and keep on moving. Very soon horse thinks ... if rider is not concerned neither am I ... lol

Thanks, for the wording! I'm terrible at writing up for sale ads. Lol and oh I've tried just about everything in the past to just get him used to them and be relaxed but I think it's just a part of him that I can't change...unless I convince my hubby to move all the stalls to the other side of the pasture and be closer to the road...

I would just mention "needs more highway miles" in your ad. Then the people shopping can decide if that's even important to them.
