Location: Missouri | What are you favorite stall mats that (preferably) won't cost an arm and a leg and will work well in a stall that has a concrete floor? We recently had to start using our stalls (used to just let my mare roam on pasture and go in and out of her large lean-to as she pleased.) Unfortunately, stall has a concrete floor and my husband doesn't have the time to bust it up and get it out right now... :( so we need to get stall mats, quickly! I've tried padding the floor with an insane amount of shavings and it's just not cutting it. |

| My vet (equine only) has concrete stalls. He has thick rubber mats that look like the ones at Tractor Supply. They put shavings down when a new horse comes in. One thing about concrete is that you can hose it down periodically and disinfect it. |

That makes me feel better! I've been begging him to bust it out the 3 yrs we've lived here, and he never has time, really. Plus we haven't had to use the stall much at all I haven't worried about it.
Technically only half the stall (10X20) is concrete. So I can't hose it down without making a mess. :/
I'd looked at mats from tractor supply, though, good to know that's a good option!  |

We have dirt, but I still added a couple of mats to the run in, just to give them a dry spot to stand on when it rains. And they are the heave duty mats from TSC.
I also had the hubster cut 4 of them in half, and whenever we go to an event where I know there are concrete stalls I bring them with me. Of course they also get shevings, but it makes me feel a bit better that they have the cushioning from the mats.
And they hold up really well. |

| we have concrete floors in our stalls .. they were here when we bought the place. I have rubber mats in their stalls and use a bag of shavings. I wish I could bust up the concrete but that can't happen just yet. My horses are only stalled at night during the Winter months..otherwise, they have 24/7 access to the outside. My horses are all seniors (27 and 34) so in the Winter, I add more shavings at night on super cold nights. |

Location: Missouri | Thanks for your responses. We have a TSC store within 50 miles, and it looks like that's going to be the most budget friendly option, so we'll probably go this weekend and pick up some mats from there. |
