They are sometimes called a breaking collar. The jocks use them to help them stay out of the mouths of the horses. |

Location: Roping pen | I think the farrier has the hardest job of all on these athletes. I can't imagine the punishment they get from these horses trying to put a shoe on.........
I dread the first few times on more user friendly, young horses.
I bet they could sure teach most people a lot on how to work with these teenagers! |

Location: Oklahoma | Just an aside - that is a beautiful shoeing job. Hubby went to Bud Beaston's school many moons ago and I always thought Bud Beaston was a genius at shoeing and innovations in corrective shoeing. |

He did not edit it. I read it not too long after he posted it. No one had commented yet.
My bad, shows he did edit it, but I guarantee he did not change his meaning, Komet always stands by what he posts- whether it's popular or not.
Agree wholeheartedly about Komet owning what he says!!!!
What did it say before he changed it, Vanessa, that wasn't positive?? (Just curious )
It was edited for spelling.... I too attended Bud's school... |

Location: OKLAHOMA | Beautiful shoe job.... I myself had the priviledge of being raised around Bed Beaston and working for OFC for a bit. Bud was a great man, lots of cutting edge info for that time. |

Those shoes look awesome! I think it's for the ones that break really hard out of the gate. An " o crap" strap, lol I've been a fan for years but never noticed one of those either. Looks handy.

Gracias.
Thanx for that sir. I wonder why the shoes with turn-downs didn't have toe clips. With that much extra traction I'd think clips would be useful. |
