Elite Veteran Posts: 747	This horse is 4 and only ever been ridden in a comfort snaffle with rein rings but I feel it's time to bump her up to something else. What are the bits you all prefer to go to after a snaffle? I'm thinking I need something that's going to give her a little rate since she has no natural rate. Goosetree DeLight? Simplicity with a curb chain?

But personally I love the Charmayne James chappy bit, I've never had a horse that didn't like it and it still a soft transition bit for a horse moving out a snaffle. I have ran multiple horses in that bit too.

Regular Posts: 57	Any short shank gag bit that is light and doesn't have too much gag will work. Young horses usually like gag bits because they get a bit of a "warning" before full pressure, but a lot of gag may scare a young horse.
