| I have heard so many good things about the Equiresp especially for bleeders. Does anyone have an idea how much a treatment costs and how long it takes? I'm thinking if it's something you would be using often it might be worth buying a machine. Are there people in the Texas area that will treat your horse or do most people just buy there own EquiResp? Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

| Typical charge around here is $25-30 per treatment (west texas). That adds up pretty quick to where you can just buy your own machine. I also prefer to have my own so my horse isnt sharing a mask with others even though they disenfect them, still makes me worry.

I don't lend or rent mine out for the reasons the above poster mentioned.
Typical treatment is 25-30 minutes.

| I have no experience with EquiResp so can't comment on their product or any other brand, I use Silver Horse Care and love it. I run a bleeder is how I came about using it and she bled horribly with me at the Neb. finals after my first run, gusher. I immediately started her on antibiotics and she still got an infection. I contacted Becky with SHC and visited with her, tons of great info she gave me and advice. She sent me my kit pronto and I nebulized my silver w/the antibiotic in it so it'd hit her lungs. I was having no luck kicking it IV. It made huge difference. I've gone almost two years with no bleeding. The cost of SHC is less is only reason I'm sharing my story and that's all it is, my story. I love it and use it when I'm on the road or if it's real dry and dusty here like it can get sometimes. It helped heal my mare and now it's my ounce of prevention! |

What kind of antibiotic did you nebulize? Having similar issue with my mare and the equi-resp helps alot with just the silver but an antibiotic would benefit as well! |

| My good horse bleeds bad and he could NOT do it without his equi resp. I use it on him 5 times a week or so. I don't use the silver, because he has special nebulizing medication, but equi is AMAZING and worth every penny if you have a bleeder! |

| LOVE mine and I made my own!!! Look up Sparmax TC-2000 (same machine equi resp uses) and make it yourself! I bought the silver horse care mask and wrap a towel around it...total cost was $340 when they are $700 new!! Ill post a list of what I bought and cheapest places |

| Does anyone has any info in how small particles Equi Resp nebulizes the medicine?
I have an Air One from Hippomed which is said to nebulize into the smallest micro particles above all other Nebulizers.
I was just wondering how much difference an Equi Resp is compared to the Air One
Here is the details for Air One
0,47µ (1 Mikro 10-6 0,000 001) (how small it makes the medicine)
3-5ml per breathing intake
up to 15ml medicine per minute intake
I would want these infos on the Equiresp

| I made my own. Used a storage containers shaped almost exactly like the mask and had an old nebulizer laying around. Works awesome. |

Nothing... I made one with a medical grade 50 psi nebulizer compresser and a mask from bigdees for 200 dollars.... It's just as good. |

It has a chamber that holds the puffer inhaler until the horse breathes it in to help with timing of their breathers fyi the horse one in the picture is 120 dollars. Its the same as the large adult human one. The human one is 30 dollars..... Anyways the difference is... a nebulizer uses an air compressor to create a mist of Medicine... the puffer above is just to help with human inhalers ....
So is one more effective than the other? The reason I ask is because my friend has an Equi-Resp that she just uses on her horses. I mentioned about trying to get my IAD horse back into shape and she offered to let me borrow it. But I don't see the point since my horse already has an inhaler (it's the AeroHippus brand, I checked tonight) and I could just get his prescription refilled.
I think the Equi-Resp probably works great, I'm just not sure if it's more beneficial for a horse that already has medication they receive through an inhaler? Although if I understand correctly the product they are inhaling isn't really a medication, it's more like a "supplement" type of deal? I work at a feed store and I had a lady talk my ear for over 30 minutes about the benefits of chelated silver but I lost interest really quickly because she wasn't talking about horses, she was talking about people, so I retained very little of what she said 
I will admit I have done zero research on the product. Ever since my horse with respiratory problems was off for over a year from a completely different medical reason I sorta stopped paying attention to that kind of stuff. |

you can't compare them... One is just for inhalers. It does nothing therapeutic. Just helps you give your inhaler easier. A nebulizer to me is like a vaporizer. You deliver "drugs" via puffer inhaler like albuterol of steroids with the areohippus... but after you do that to can use the nebulizer with saline or whatever to help the airways feel better. I use both because you can use them together... |
