You need to get the body nutritionally balanced. When that is done the calcium can be reabsorbed. There is several products that will help. One is Equi Bone from TLC. The other is Medicine Bag Complete. My favorite is Medicine Bag Complete. The customer service is great. They go above and beyond to help. Im using it right now on a horse with a spur on hock. Per xrays it is down by 50%. It wouldnt hurt to call them, and tell them what your dealing with and see what they would reccomend.
I would also get some PHT wraps. Use sore no more poultice underneath. I use them at night . Then off during day. A laser woukd also help.alot.

Which ligament are you talking about? Proximal suspensory ligament with calcification off the bottom hock joint? If so, that's a tough one to come back from. Although there's shock wave, prp, a surgery (fasciotomy) and some other options, it's still tough to come back from for a barrel horse. Which ligament are you talking about and what does your vet say in terms of treatment and prognosis?

Don't know the name of the ligament but it is the one that attaches to the back of the hock or runs behind it. Vet gave me a really good rehab program which I followed to the T he said he may not be physically able to run barrels The trouble he has is the push off. He can stop and set on butt and can start turn but cant finish/push off. He shifts all his weight on the left side. (right hock that hurt) Gonna ask bout the surgery you are talking bout no mention of it even tho vet is a surgeon Maybe he didn't mention it because wont help I will ask tomorrow. The last time I talked to him he said there was nothing else to do So that's why I'm asking here for experiences I have never heard of this. or dealt with this. thanks

Also found in feb. vet said not done calcifying yet. Was wondering if once done calcifying maybe be like a hock fusing once done it is good? I know two different things. and of course vet has no idea when it will stop calcifying.

Well, I hope you have a good outcome. The proximal suspensory ligament attaches at the bottom, backside of the hock, so probably not what you're speaking of. Good luck.
