Location: Alberta, Canada | I did comment that curost was my recommendation but thought perhaps I should share what I have tried prior.... ALL OF IT.
I hauled a hay steamer for a year and a half, tried equipulmin, inhalers, antibiotics, steroids, equiResp (EQUIRESP has and does help), you name it I tried it. Even my vet was completely boggled. This spring I was losing hope so I started paying close attention on here to what girls were using and kept seeing cur ost pop up. I got in touch with dr. Schell mid May and we set up a program for her. Within a week I saw a huge change in my mare. Now, mid July, I have a completely different horse. I couldn't even long trot my mare without coughing. Now, she can breeze a half mile and doesn't so much as snort. She meets me at the gate and doesn't lose weight on the road.
Cur ost is worth every penny and if you give it a shot right off the hop I feel you'll possibly save yourself a pile of time, money and heartache. |

Location: NE Texas | I too have tried it all, including mixing the turmeric golden paste myself. Spent thousands at the vet, did breathing treatments, tried other supplements, steroids, etc, etc and nothing seemed to offer any improvement. I was facing having to put this horse down when Dr. Schell asked me to give him 2 weeks. If at the end of that 2 weeks we hadn't made progress, then at least we tried. I'm certainly glad we did try. In 30 days I went from having a horse in complete respiratory distress to a horse I was back to riding and exercising. The results I experienced with the Cur-OST products are amazing and I will never be without it for my horses.
The scary part is, this horse had dealt with very minor dust allergies for several years prior to the downward spiral that happened very, very quickly. He always had a short exercise induced cough and would cough when he ate hay off the ground. No big deal I thought.....until it was. With the added stress of hauling and competition, he went downhill and went downhill fast.
So thankful to Dr. Schell for educating me on why this happened and how it can be managed and avoided in the future! |

Location: mi | When my mare was at the beginning stages and it was just a random cough the Air power worked pretty well for her. If you are not sure it is allergies I would try adding in some sort of immune booster. I just did this with my 3 year old and his cough is dang near gone. I did a bit of research and almost all of them had a main ingredient of Lysine so I had some Uckele Tri-amino in the barn so just added that into his feed and with in a couple weeks the cough is pretty much gone.
For my mare that is now 14 years into her COPD nothing really helps but DEX. But just so you know if this is your route, you do not have to poke her with it. You can give it orally and can even just shoot it on their grain if they are good eaters. The ONLY time I have to give Dex IM is if she is really having a STRONG bout and I want to be sure she gets every drop and get it quickly. Although I am not sure IM is anymore quick then just shooting it under her tounge. Either way I rarely have to give Dex IM and it is pretty cheap and works so don't be afraid of it. My mare has leveled out some but there was a winter that I wasn't sure she was going to make it and was going through a bottle a month. No side effects and 3 years or so later and she is still kicking. .... |

You're one of the lucky ones... We put my mare on Dex and it almost killed her lol. |
