I'm going to feed round bales this winter and need a new feeder. What are your recommendations? Feeding 4 horses and one miniature donkey. Thanks!

I have two priefert bale feeders, but I would absolutely love to eventually own one of these http://www.ruralking.com/cradle-bale-feeder-galvanized.html?fee=2&fep=135465&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&gclid=Cj0KEQjwoau9BRDMvsnv5MCh24UBEiQAKOqcfWnb6K99RO3vNW9HDCcfOYglN7RTLPnG7Sp05ohz4AcaAji98P8HAQ

Do not go cheap and buy a cow feeder. Get one that they cannot rub the mane out.

I am a worry wart, no round bale feeder for me. My thinking,  I'm a lot further ahead cost wise, if one of them gets hung up on a feeder, and get hurt.
I just put the round bale out. At first they made a mess. But I made them clean a lot of it up before putting out a new round bale. Now, for the most part, they eat what they want, go off , rest, graze some pasture then will come back hours later to eat some more.

I have always just used a skirted feeder like this. We have used them for big squares too, but they don't fit all that well unless you take some off each end and move it to the side. I have a big square feeder just like this, that we had made.
