The Bible has many laws. Two and a half are crammed full of regulations on everything from manslaughter to skin disease. But at the beginning of all those laws ( Exodus 20) and at their heart ( Deuteronomy), we find the Ten Commandments. The rest of the laws expand upon these universal moral principles.
God inscribed the Ten Commandments on tablets of stone which Moses brought down from Mount Sinai. Exodus 34:28; Deuteronomy 4:13, 10:4. Some modern folks bristle at the negativity of the Ten Commandments......all those" Thou shalt nots". But these boundary lines provide a moral standard for a healthy society.

The Ark of the Convenant
The holiest object in Israel was a 2x4x2 box. The Ark of the Convent( sometimes known as The Ark of God) was an ornate chest of acacia wood, overlaid with gold, and topped with a gold cover known as the " mercy seat". On the cover were two golden figures of winged cherubs.
The Ark contained the tablets of the Ten Commandments , a pot of manna, and Aaron's staff. It was kept in the most holy place in the tabernacle( later in the temple). Once a year, on the Day of Atonment, the High Priest would enter this scared room and sprinkle blood in the " mercy seat" atoning for the people's sin.
It was understood, then, that this was a point where God touched the earth. He met his people at this place sacrifice. Sometimes the Ark was seen as the throne of The Lord God, but more graphically it was described as his footstool. 1 Chronicles 28:2
Modern moviemakers have to use considerable guesswork when they depict the Ark; it was mostly certainly destroyed in the Babylonian invasion of 586 B.C.
For it is WITH God all things are possible
Have a VERY BLESSED Friday and weekend.
Father God guide me today to do all things that bring glory and honor to You Amen

Sometimes I get lost in understanding certain Biblical passages, but your explanations are so helpful.
