| After my horse got done eating the other day I noticed some blood coming out of her mouth. I opened it up and noticed a big sore/hole. I called my vet and sent pictures and she thought she broke her upper part of her mouth and to take her to specialist for wiring. The specialist came out and xrayed and said no fracture but think it is an aggressive form of cancer. Took samples to send off. Praying it is not but wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. She is 5 years old. Just two-three weeks ago had her teeth looked at and it was not there. Saying bone is now exposed. Surgery to remove cancerous part is an option if not spread to the sinus cavity.
Trying to attach a picture.

Location: "...way down south in the Everglades..." | OMG Dejavu. I lost the horse in my Avatar to squamous cell carcinoma in his mouth and it had entered his sinus cavity before they figured out what it was. Thought originally sinus or tooth infection or possible gum infection (impacted plant material or ??)...sent a biopsy off to CSU and it was cancer. He was just shy of turning 12. Prayers it's not that as there were zero options in my case and he had to be put down less than 2 weeks after the diagnosis as he could no longer eat and was in pain. I think about that horse every. single. day. He meant everything to me. Not trying to be negative as I really truly hope you get better news back. If you need to PM me, feel free.

That is a big hole to have happened in just a few days / weeks... Do you have him on any type of

| No work on teeth were done. Just a quick exam to see if anything needed to be done.
No antibiotics yet, per vet... want to verify if cancer or not. Test sent off yesterday.
Vet said if cancer, it is very aggressive and moves really fast.

| I lost my horse from squamous cell carcinoma of the atoms about a year ago, it happened very fast and started with strange symptoms, we thought he had EPM. Nothing could be done. Just try to stay calm, hopefully you have caught it early. Has your horse been able to eat? Will say a prayer for you and your horse, please keep us updated. |
