So I bought another horse from a kill pen, this ones WILD, like he's never been touched or worked with, he's a beautiful registered horse..
It's been a long time since I've trained one this bad if ever and wondered if anyone has any recommendations on youtube videos to watch or resources to help me.
I finally have him letting me touch him pretty much all over, I tie him up for 1-2 hours every day, have saddled him and working on picking up feet. he freaks out if he hears noise like if I clap my hands or pet him.. he basically just needs all the foundation work done. Starting to round pen well and turn into me but when I approach him initially he always tenses up.

I would send him somewhere. Not worth the hastle when in 90 days you could have a totally different animal. Be safe!

this thought has crossed my mind! I'm in no hurry though and like a challenge but he is definitely the greatest I've had!

He may always be tense and flighty on the ground.
I have one who has been broke for 3 years, wonderful foundation, lots of ground work, bomb proof when you are on her back.
On the ground always tense, not one I trust to walk behind unless she knows I am there. When I started wearing the helmet, she has completely freaked out. Without a helmet she is fine, go figure.

I would totally be sending them somewhere! Lol I'd rather be safe than sorry.
I have no info on YouTube videos. But honestly, just think of ways that you can desensitize without looking like the dumb dumbs standing on horses backs with whips. LOL
You'll know how much he can handle and when he's had enough. You'll know what needs to be reinforced and what he picks up on faster. Patience is a Virtue that I just don't have with younger horses. Trainers are my saving grace!

You should check out Warwick Schiller. He has lots of videos on horses spooking and doing groundwork. These are some I thought might be helpful:
