| What is everyone's favorite saddle? Is Martin saddlery the only company that could make a 9" gullet? I've heard lots of pros and cons on their saddles, especially their Crown C. Thinking about getting one because my mare needs a wider gullet. The new BTR saddle looks neat.

| To my knowledge yes they are the ink ones who make a true 9" gullet, but their trees are also designed to fit differently and measure wider for that reason.
I know folks who have had good luck with them, I've had both the crown c and the fx3. Didn't care for how either rode or fit compared to the triple creeks I'm riding now.
Saddle fit may be the single most frustrating thing in the world. |

| The crown c and fx3 have the wide range of gullets I believe the newest one is just a regular gullet.
One thing to consider is with the first two the normal bars have a lot of rock in them, if your horse is flat backed you will need to custom order or find a flat tree.
2014 and older saddles you need to call with the serial number to see if the tree is flat
2015 and newer it is stamped on them.
The seat changed on the crown c in 2015 saddles and rides way different then the 2014 and older, I honestly don't like the new seats so make sure you sit in the year you are buying |

Location: NE Pa-Gods Country | Caldwells are wonderful saddles...i got the 'maxed out' one for my mare as the Martins and others were fitting in the shoulders with the 8" gullet, but not thru the back...thus making them tip forward and rock. ...Double J also makes a 'wide fit' that is wider thru the back... |

I favor Caldwells over all my other saddles. They fit me and my horses. |

| I bought a Team Camarillo a few months ago for my wide built, cow bred mare and I am so happy with it. It wasn't the wide fit but the flat bars. It doesn't have a wide gullet but has flat flared bars. Fits better then anything I've ever tried. |
