I know quite a few people that are doing that. Are you set on Theraplate or would you consider Equivibe? Both are good products. We prefer the vertical vibration of the Equivibe. If you would be interested in the Equivibe, I might could save you some money on one, as they are one of our sponsors. Be happy to discuss with you, if you were interested.

All the plates on the market are definitely not the same. Equivibe definitely has the direction right (vertical). Vertical vibration is what you need for strengthening your horses joints, faster rehabilitation from injuries and maintaining muscle mass. Vertical vibration is used by professional athlete rehabilitation centers in order to speed recovery and help strengthen connective tissue. There is also a performance benefit from the correct direction and power of a plate. Use immediately before a race has shown to increase explosive strength as measured by faster sprint times in humans. We put a horse on an Equivibe and a Performance Plate (Equine Catalyst) at a show that had both. The Performance Plate definitely had more power and it seemed to work better. The Performance Plate is not as well known, but definitely should be looked at before you buy. You should definitely do some research before you buy. All the companies typically have a person you can talk to about how the plates work and what research physics they were based on. If they don't make you feel confident in their product, you probably should not buy it.
