My husband and I currently have a fully loaded 4 horse Platinum with a 14ft LQ that has been everything we dreamed of and more! We LOVE our trailer but now we have 2 small kids (2 & 5) and it is getting VERY cramped! We also love to travel, go camping and just whatever we decided to do at the spur of the moment! We have been tossing around the idea of purchasing a ToterHome and getting a Platinum bumper pull to pull behind it. What we like about ToterHomes is that they are designed to pull and are very versatile so we could pull a trailer full of four wheelers, or tow a vehicle or a horse trailer! If we are just going on a day trip we could always pull the horse trailer with our one ton instead of the toterhome. Was just wondering if anyone has any experience with ToterHomes and can you give me your thoughts and opinions on them. I should also note that my husband is very good semi operator and we have 4 other commercial semis that we use on our operations so he is very semi savvy should I say!

I guess we are still on the fence about a bumper pull or gooseneck!
Photo is just examples of what we are looking at!

I have a friend who hauls around with one, basically. They don't have a gooseneck option with theirs. They pull a 3 or 4 horse bumper pull.

Seems to work out well for them, but I know despite being a good driver in it and their regular farm semis, she hates traveling the 2 lane highways at night, especially if she's not ewally and usually has to be hours early to the rodeo to park, especially if they are staying the night so she can get a level parking spot and have room to maneuver.

I can only imagine how much harder backing a smaller bumper pull with thtat would be. I feel like a gooseneck would be much easier to maneuver.

We looked into one a few years ago. The deal breakers (vs a LQ trailer) was that, once you get to your destination, you have to unplug/unhook the toter to go anywhere. We like to go out around the town way to much. Parking them at/in an urban environment would be a huge pain.

We have friends that have one and they are either always bumming a ride or just staying at the grounds.

I think the traveling aspect of it would be great but not great enough for us...

I Drive and own Semi-Trucks.  So with that said.  I wouldn't by a Toterhome.  If you need the extra room and your insistant on getting a bigger truck for all the Right reasons - Braking, power etc.  Find a truck with a studio Sleeper ( Or double bunk at least) and an APU.  That will give you an extra bedroom heated and cooled without the wear and tear on the big engine.  You'll find those types of trucks (I know I've got two forsale)  for a TON less money than a Toterhome, and they are less cumbersome (still... but less) to drive around town after the race.  They make a King pin "nose" for the gooseneck trailer that's around 250-300$ that will latch into the 5th wheel so the conversion is null.   You won't wear out a set of tires and if you do end up needing roadside repair or repair of any kind the shop won't see $$$$$ and you are less likely to get "Screwed"

I think I would just get another truck and get a good sized camper. You would both be driving but you would get good use of of the camper and probably have better resale options if you wanted to sell. And you can never have too many trucks lol.

We have a 14' short wall and 2 kids, and have camped a week at a time in it.  The size worked great for us.  We used the horse area to haul bikes, and then it was a closet/dressing area while we camped.  Ours does have a sofa and a dinette that both make beds, so each kid has their own sleeping area.  I would have to have this setup or a fold down bunk because they would kill each other in the same bed.
