I'm looking at a fairly pricey wellbred filly coming 3 yo...she had OCD's surgically removed and is back working. I never even heard of them. Is this a deal killer, or a past bump in the road?

I would want to see xrays of what they look like now. I know some can be removed and its pretty straightforward, but others can't be. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me necessarily, but I would want new films and have my vet that I trusted look at them and give me their opinion.

Saint Stacey
Lots of factors come into play. If they had a good surgeon and took care of them right away, they aren't a big deal and shouldn't cause problems.
If they were left in there and caused a lot of damage prior to removal, you might have problems.
I would X-ray the horse and see what the film looked like before making a decision.
Your title is really confusing though. OCD's are not calcium deposits. If you also have calcium deposits on top of OCD removal in a 3 year old, that's not a good thing.

OCDs are abnormal, unhealthy cartilage flaps that may contain some mineralization.
The fact that they were surgically removed already is a good thing, because the longer the wait, the less success rate with them.

For me it would be a deal breaker.Especially on a high priced filly. But that's just my opinion.
