What are your favorite exercises or things to do to keep your finished horse in shape and legged up? We do a lot of long trotting in the fields but I'm looking for ways to switch it up. Thanks!

I try and give them another job. Working cattle, etc. I also don't ride them as much, I pony them off my young horses and just let them be horses.

I use mine as a turn back horse for some cutting horse trainers near me and that really keeps them in shape! I've also started hauling to some nearby trails with lots of hills to do some hill work which is so good for them! Just try to do as much cross-training as you can to get them as fit as possible.

Both of mine are also roped off of, used to move cattle, check fences etc. I ride a lot in our cattle pasture up and down hills and I pony them when I don't have time to climb on them all
