Lol!
OP, 1 pound of cubes equals 1 pound of hay. Both in weight and nutritional value (if that's what you mean?) |

| Probably should read how many cubes equal an alfalfa flake.
Which would depend on the size of the flake. Is there a feeding guide on the package? |

| Weigh a flake of hay. Take that weight and that is how many pounds you should feed |

Location: Not Where I Want to Be | Tdove - 2016-12-16 9:44 AM On an as fed basis my estimation and experience is that 1 lb of Omnis will equal about 1.3 lbs of good quality small bale alfalfa and much more in large bale free choice type form (this increase is due to higher waste of big bales). Omnis is also equal to about 1.1 lbs of our Mustang Sally and other 100% alfalfa cubes. I knew exactly what you meant.
You are figureing a 25% loss by feeding bales?
I guess if you were to break up the flake and throw it on the ground that would be correct, but there is no way fed correctly you are losing 25% |

Location: Not Where I Want to Be | Tdove - 2016-12-16 9:57 AM No, digestibilty and waste factor of 20% for straight alfalfa cube be baled hay. Another 10% for the higher energy value of Omnis over straight alfalfa cube. As you are aware Omnis is TMR cube with grain and fat added.
alright that makes sense.
I wasn't factoring in the nutritional value of the oats
