Is it really worth $60 per gallon? Anybody using it, and has experienced major differences compared to oils that cost half as much??
Thank you.

Equine omega gold is camelina oil. Camelina oil has awesome ratios of omega 3,6,9s. The anti inflammatory benefits you get from high levels of 3 and 9s are endless. I use flaxen performance brand of camelina oil and it runs $50 a gallon and I love everything I've seen in my mare after starting it.

My in-law's vet recommended this product for their mare. She wouldn't touch her food with it on it. So...they gave it to me. NONE of our horses would touch it. Not even my fat guy that lives for food. It smelled a bit like fish oil...so I assume that didn't have the best taste. I didn't try it myself

The flaxen performance brand smells like fresh greens to me... not sure why camelina oil would ever smell fishy unless Equine Omega Gold adds stuff to the camelina oil that I didn't see.

I was told that camelina has a bad taste and some companies like Flaxen do add flavoring to it. I have checked a few labels and seems that some do and some don't add flavor. I am going to try some of he Excel, I have had great luck with Ucklele 4:1 and am using hemp oil on a couple now. It is expensive but I really did notice a difference in a few of them.

I have never heard it has a bad taste. Every article I read before trying it said it was a light, fresh oil with nutty tones.

It taste like almond oil to me. Before I tried flaxen performance I bought a 16oz container of cold pressed camelina oil from my local health food shop and it smells exactly the same as the flaxen performance and I tasted both and they tasted the same. I think something is wrong with the camelina oil if it is smelly fishy or tasting bad...

I fed it to 5 different horses for 3 months. I had a yearling, a old 23 yr old mare and a couple 4 yr olds on it. I didn't see 10 cents worth of value to it. I'll just stick to vitamins and a few other things. It wasn't worth it to me. Maybe it takes 91 days to see a difference, but I noticed nothing! So I quit feeding it.
