Does anyone have pics of where they sit their Caldwell saddle? I know they should be up further than other saddles, but I tried my first one last night and not sure if it is in the correct spot?

Their webpage has some pretty good info on it as far as placement goes:

Ive found my caldwells and PSC fit better if I pull them up further on my long withered horse.

I can try and get a pic later today when I ride but the Caldwell site has alot of good information on the placement. I did find that I had to use the Diamond Pad that has the velcro adjustment for the withers on my gelding - regular cut pads wouldn't allow me to get the saddle up far enough.

Charon told me that if you line up the concho with the back of the elbow then you are on the shoulder. So I use that as a reference and I haven't had any problems. If I get too far on the shoulder it will slide back. If I line it up it stays put. That was very helpful for me.

Thanks, I read through that but she only posts pictures of saddles in the wrong spot. None of them in the right spot.

Thank you, I will try this tonight!

I put the saddle on last night with the concho lined up to the elbow as suggested. After a 30 minute ride, it still slid back probably 2-3" - is this normal? Does it fit?

Sounds like it is too narrow. Do you have pictures with it placed there? When you had it on him was the front of the saddle sitting up or level?

"back of the elbow" may not have been the best choice of words.... Just line the concho up with the elbow. draw a line with your eye from your concho down to the elbow... hope that makes sense. I have a couple pictures on my phone if you want to pm me your cell phone number and I will send them to you.
