so today is boot cleaning day. I heard somewhere on here that scotchguarding them to keep them clean looking. Does this actually work and can I scotchguard my polos too?

I think Scotchguard spray would work good for the bells and sport boots. As for the polos, try Nikwax Tech Wash or Nikwax Polar Proof. It's a wash-in treatment made for fleece, wool, and technical type material.
Cleaning boots and wraps is easy. Keeping my wool saddle pad clean
(especially in the spring
) is a challenge. It collects so much hair and gets hardened with salt sweat constantly.

I like this deal - just stick your boots on there and spray w/ a hose.

I've never tried scotchguard personally, so interested to hear about that.
I've got a little "system" of cleaning my sport boots that seems to work well. I have a big utility sink in my garage so I let the boots soak in warm soapy water for a couple hours. Then I attached a hose to the faucent
(so I can still have warm water
) and use the "power" setting on the garden hose attachment to rinse all the soap off. If any stains or dirt remain, I have a brush that I use for the inside of the boots. I mostly just use my hands and fingers on the outside. Then I let them drip-dry to air dry.
On my light colored boots, if I need to, I'll apply a stain remover first before they soak. And again I'll work it into the boot and rinse multiple times as I'm rinsing them. It usually seems to do the trick.
It's a bit of elbow grease, but it works for me to get the boots clean.

I can't speak for polos, but it worked great on my Iconoclasts!
