Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | So today is my first barrel race back after having my baby. I haven't been to a barrel race since last May!! My horse is in great shape and tuned as sharp as a kitchen knife thanks to my loving fiancΓ© penning cows on him since thanksgiving- but am I?!? I've been super excited about going, until this morning! Now I'm nervous! I've never been nervous about a barrel race or a rodeo before, but I've never been this long without going consistently. Any words of advice or encouragement would be appreciated! |

Location: Montana | I've never had kids, but I have taken breaks from racing. I'm the type that gets so nervous I almost make myself sick...yet I realize that some of my best runs were made when I was relaxed and just out to have a good time. So just relax and think happy thoughts. YOU ARE GONNA HAVE SO MUCH FUN! As soon as you get back out there, you will realize why you loved it so much in the first place! Don't worry about anything other than going out there and having fun. Often times, especially after a break, my only goal of the entire race is to leave all three barrels standing; anything beyond that is a plus. Those are just some things that work for me.

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | Thank y'all!!!! We completely missed the first barrel, but we are both a little rusty! I didn't realize how intimidating it would be to go back down the alley! Y'all are amazing cheerleaders! |

Wonderful. Can't wait to see you. Will have to see if I can't take off from school. I don't suck quite as bad as I did. Laughing.
