Sire is palomino dam is bay by a sorrel stallion and I believe her dam was bay or brown.

The only reason to test would be to know the agouti gene, since it isn't expressed on red based foals. That would tell you if he has the ability to sire black and/or smokey black when bred to an Aa bay or black mare.

Is it worth it to know that? I'm not a color breeder and love to get a bay but of course a buckskin is fun toolol, but I know some actively seek that info.

Honestly, it would make no difference to me. He's yellow, he could sire any color under the rainbow depending on the mare.
