spur /flank cinch question

So pony and I are both happy with the new saddle, but I'm afraid to ride in spurs because I don't want them getting stuck underneath the rear cinch. Sometimes I nudge the buckle instead of the horse with my heel as it is. And a stuck spur sounds like a fantastic way to incite a blow up in my otherwise amazingly tolerant horse. Am I crazy for worrying about it? I would just ride without them except she still sometimes needs reminding to carry herself around turns.

Get a bumper spur. Still there. Still gets a response. Can't get caught.

Ditto. Snug it up you'll be fine.

A loose rear cinch would IMO be obnoxious anyway shifting around back there. A super loose one is in danger of catching a rear foot in the event of a fall.
