What does it mean if a stallion is advertised as a "twin brother to _____"?
Obviously they are full brothers, but the twin term is one I've never heard...

Could they actually be twins? Rare but it happens. I would think if the other brother was famous though we'd know he was a twin? Maybe.
Embryo transfer? That would be on his papers. My gelding has a full brother and a full sister both born the same year as him via embryo transfer - his papers state embryo transfer and AI...the term "twin" is a little loose here IMO.
Those would be my guesses

I was guessing embryo something or other as well. The "other brother" is on the famous side, LOL.
The stallion I have my mare booked to is unavailable on my scheduled collection day, and they offered me the option to breed to another horse, advertised as a "twin". I'm late enough in the year just trying to get my older mare in heat with the crazy weather that I don't know that I want to wait til the end of May...plus loose all the money I've got into getting her ready for Saturday. I like this horses pedigree as much if not a little more than the horse I had booked. So I'm just trying to talk myself through my decision...

If he was an embryo transfer and the mare double ovulated, I could see how they would consider him a "twin"

Palo Duro Cat is listed as twin brother to Sophisticated Catt
(who is the "more famous" brother of the two
). Sons of High Brow Cat and Shania Cee
(obviously cutting horses
) that were from same flush.

Could it be a "virtual" full brother born the same year? I know of Super Corona, who is by same sire as CC and mothers are Full Sisters.
This is curious, if you find out from the breeder, please post what they mean.

I was able to find out. They were two embryos from the same flush.
