I have a new farrier. I realized the next day when I picked my horses feet that she did not trim the frog on any of them. I found this strange because every farrier I've seen do hooves takes a hoof knife and trims the excess frog. I am also used to them using a hoof knife on their sole. Is this a new practice to no longer use a hood knife? I realize new studies are always coming out, so maybe I'm just behind!

Some farriers do, some just let the frog shed itself naturally.

I would be happy if I could find a farrier that leaves the frog and sole mostly alone.
