Expert Posts: 5293	And it depends on how severe. Mine had a pretty decent parrot mouth and I used the same bits I use on all my horses. But thats just my experience.

Defense Attorney for The Horse Location: Claremore, OK	I have had a lot of parrot mouthed horses and haven't had to use any kind of special bit on them. Extreme Veteran Posts: 428 Location: God's country	My horse has a pretty severe parrot mouth. She has a performance float by a DVM equine dentist every 6 months. I haven't ever had to use anything different on her than I have any other horse, but I think the frequent floats have a lot to do with that. He keeps her planes very level and keeps the bit seats correct.

	You can use any bit! We have a horse with a parrot mouth but one thing you really have to do is keep his dentistry up every 6 months or you'll regret it!
