So the mare doesn't like home water in unfamiliar buckets or pans, and she certainly doesn't like not-home poison liquid at all. Since all we have in the pastures are 100 gallon stock tanks, I figured I'd throw together a pen for a couple weeks so she has to drink out of buckets, flavor them with acv or molasses, then when we haul keep the same color
(or even the same buckets
) and flavor so hopefully drinking away from home is no big deal.
I've got electric tape, but I'm not sure with her friends running on the other side she'll respect it, even HOT, and I don't want to teach her to disrespect it. We don't have a round pen, and I've only got 2 livestock panels. I'm not opposed to getting more, but I'd like to get out of it for less money if I could.
Anybody got any cheap, temporary horse fencing ideas, or should I just suck it up and buy more panels?

I love my three strand electric pen. I prefer it over my panel pen.

I would say it depends how well your horse respects fences on what to get. Mine i know will always respect a fence wether its a string or its a panel, they get zapped once and theyre done no matter who's on the other side. If she doesnt, i would just get the panels, you could always resell them or they might come in handy down the road.. As far as the water goes, just make sure you take the same bucket she drinks out of on a daily
(if you can
) also, have you ever tried a horse hydrator? I have a picky drinker on the road but i use my hydrator and he drinks right out of it no matter what and i always make sure i bring his bucket from home that way its familiar to him.
