So, I'm just throwing this out for opinions on here, not bashing either sire. I have the opportunity to buy a 6yr old FG daughter OR a 4yr old Dinero daughter at this time...yes they are both pricey, one is about 10K more than the other. Both have been entered locally in the state they live in, but not pushed or futuritied. I'm not a futurity hauler, just looking for that long term hopefully rodeo horse down the road. So this will be an investment. The Dinero daughter is a tad bit more on the hyper side, but she's just as comfy to me as the FG one! Obviously they both will make nice prospects and breeders down the road. Curious which one you guys would decide on if this was you? One is a drop dead gorgeous BAY and the other is a cute chestnut. Both seem level headed, but the Dinero is like I said a bit more "ready" or "touchy"

Thanks in advance.

I'm a sucker for FG's but I would go for the Dinero. I prefer hotter, touchier horses & I'm always down to save money, especially since both are nice.

Good points! The 4yr old Dinero has just started hitting the arena this summer, is in the 3D locally, which I"m fine with.. both parties are pretty firm on their price, so it's a tough decision. The FG is further along but also 2yrs more mature.

The FG would also resell better if you ever had to, but I personally prefer something less far along. I like to do more of the training myself, but it's definitely a factor if you'd rather not. Have you run either at a race?

I personally haven't ran them at a race, just the ranch they are at. The FG mare is out of a race track mare that has first down dash bloodlines.
The Dinero is crossed with a Merridoc, Doc Bar bloodlines on the dams side.

I love FG horses but if i could have the chance, id go for the Dinero mare. A friend of mine has a Dinero mare and shes just awesome, I drool over her all the time. Great rodeo horse too. Just had a baby last spring and hes shaping up to be just like her attitude wise.

I'd go for the FG. They're going to be harder and harder to find.

For those that say one or the other, any input on their characteristics when mature? I don't like one that I have to constantly remind to rate either. I'm wanting the "forever" horse I guess..the FG is snappy in the turns but smooth in her run. The Dinero is really quick footed..I honestly don't know my "style" I know I can't handle a complete free runner but I'm not an agressive rider either. If that makes any sense!

Dinero.  I have one and absolutely LOVE him.   Smart, quick, not lazy, and very work-oriented.   Not as mature as some others at 2 years old, but great worker when given a job.

For what it's worth, I have a 2 yr old Dinero filly that is super sweet and smart but she is just now getting broke so I don't know a whole lot about her just yet.

I also have a 6 year old Dinero gelding. He is far from mature but his style is between a free runner and a push style. He's very honest and consistent and has been that way from very early on. He is stubborn and lazy but when it is time to go to work, he's a soldier.

Another thing to consider is the fact that there will for sure be one possibly two Dinero mares at the NFR this year (Hailey Kinsel/Tammy Fischer) so I imagine mid-December, Dinero babies, especially mares, will be a hot commodity.

I have nothing against Frenchmans Guy and only have a grandson of him, no daughters or sons so I can't give you much of an educated opinion. My A Smooth Guy is quick footed and almost too smart for his own good. He's very confident in himself.

It sounds like you have a fun decision to make. Pray about it and go with your gut. Our opionions are just opionions, they are not right or wrong, just personal preferences.
