| My husband interviewed for a job Friday. They called him with an offer this morning and he has to be in Grand Prairie tomorrow....
With that being said... Any of my East Texas BB's know of any land to lease in the general vicinity of Terrell/Wills Point?
We have a place in sw louisiana that I am staying at until we can find something up there. Then we will put our place on the market. He said he will drive in on the weekends. Thats going to get old fast! We have 4 horses and 3 dogs. All well mannered. All mares and the dogs are all fixed.
I dont want to do the long distance thing for a long time. I'd prefer to be up there in the next few months. Everything is happening so fast and Im not a huge fan of the unknown but it seems like everything is falling into place so I guess its meant to be. |

Also take into consideration traffic. My dad leaves Weatherford at 5am every morning and doesn't get to work until 7am. |

You aren't taking traffic into consideration. Trust me. When Google says 40mins. It really means 3 hours. |

Its his choice to work in GP. I am going to try to find work closer to home when I do get up there. |

I completely understand! Like I said, if you need help finding a rental or if you're interested in buying a home I can give you the number to a really good family friend who can get you a place.
Very exciting that you and your husband are making this big change. Congrats on the new job for him. You'll love it here, I hope! |

thanks for this info...we currently live in Southern CA and looking to move somewhere where the drive isn't as horrendous. This doesn't sound like the place, even though I would do anything to be away from the majority of the people in California!

Truth. I don't agree with 1DSoon that often, but cannot argue on this one. I know one guy that makes a similar drive but he is a fireman so it isn't every day.
Oh, wait a minute. Just saw that you are from southern California. Come on. It won't be that bad considering what you are used to.

I can't speak for your husband but my employment decisions were always about how I could best provide for my family and little about "choice" of where I worked. |

It's not bad on weekends or after rush hour... It's a 30-40min drive depending on your speed on the weekend. As long as there isn't construction... Again, depending on which way you take. But during rush hour don't ever trust Google's ETA... |

| He's taking a significant pay raise over what he was making in Louisiana. I think he said it took him just under an hour to get there from Terrell this morning, with stopping to get diesel and coffee. The job is right off of I20. So I dont think it will be too bad for him.
I miss him. In the almost 9 years we've been together, this will be the longest we've been away from each other. Yes he'll come home on weekends or I'll go up there, but the sooner I can get moved up there the better. Does anyone have any connections in that area?m |

Location: NE Texas | I wish I could help you out. I have put some feelers out in my area, which would still be about the same distance to GP. Might also look up around Aubrey or Pilot Point. Things are alot higher up there, but horse places are more abundant as well and should be about the same drive. |
