Expert Posts: 2685	Does anyone have experience? A vet friend of mine messaged me about it yesterday (I have a mare with a bad stifle) and said she has had awesome results with it. ETA- trying this on my good mare next week. Diagnosis is arthritis in stifle joint with irritated meniscus (no definite tear, ultrasound showed some fraying on edges). Mare flexes positive on it and requires injections every 90. Will update with results as we go. Wish us luck.... 9/21: We are day 3 post injection. She was ridden the night of and day after (long trot only), and I lunged her today in 1/2 acre pen that consisted of her running and kicking and jumping around like a fool. I was instructed to exercise her daily without anti-inflammatory Rd for 3 days post. It says inflammation activates the Med and exercise gets the product moved around good. She is on no meds and 100% sound. This doesn't sound like much but when we flexed her a few days before the injection she was off circling to the left (w/out flexion) and very positive to left stifle flexion. It Goes On Posts: 2262 Location: Muskogee, OK	Have not heard a ton about this product... will be interesting to see the results. I do have quite a bit of experience with stem cell therapy in stifles and have seen fairly good results across the board, especially with soft tissue injuries. Not sure how the cost of the stem cells compares to this other product. They aren't cheap BUT there is a ton of research out there proving their benefit in these stifle injuries. Another thing to think about- it sounds as though this injury has been going on for a while and if you are seeing arthritic changes on X-rays the likelihood of there being cartilage damage is high. If regenerative therapies don't seem to help you may try IRAP. I've seen a lot of chronic stifle horses improve lameness grades with IRAP.

Expert Posts: 2685	So we injected today. Praying it works. I'll give a little more insight now that I have more... Cost is $450 for 1 treatment at vet cost. I don't know what the mark up is. The protocol is that inflammation activates the product/helps it work so... no anti-inflammatories 24 hours prior to injection nor 72 hours after. Post injection they can be sore but you are supposed to exercise them regularly. There have been no adverse reactions to the product outside of some minor soreness after injection that goes away in a few days. Some results have been seen in a matter of a week, some in 5 weeks. We just got home from the vet and I think my mare might be a little sore from the product already but I will lightly lunge her tonight, tomorrow and Thursday. I'm super excited but super cautious because this is kind of my last effort to get her sound enough to run consistently. I have heard lots of good from a vet friend in TX that has used it on some crazy cases. They had a hock with bone degeneration that when they sent the post MRI to be examined, the MRI tech called and said they sent the wrong hock when in reality it was just THAT much better. This product has also been proven on lots of soft tissue injuries. It's encouraging.... but nothing else has worked so I am trying to keep a realistic expectation. Will update in a week or so. We have a barrel race we would like to attend first weekend in October.
