| ...on my first horse I ever bought, raised, and trained by myself. I am having heart palpitations. This mare was given a poor performance prognosis and after two years of time off and therapies, she is back good as new and I am SWEATING BULLETS. I won't be sleeping anytime soon. Not to mention, my sanity(SO) is gone this week, so I'm here alone with my crazy. I'm so nervous. |

And you are gonna make a run at YOUR practice pen. Pick how you want to approach the alley and where you want to be going down it. Look up and see how you want to approach that barrel. Zip on in make that first, look up for approach to second, repeat for third. LOL!!!
Sounds stupid but hey it helps me.
YOU WILL BE GREAT!! |

| Hey guys, sorry. It's been crazy. The mare worked her tail off. Rider error leaning forward caused her to blow the backside of 2 but the pen was the biggest I ever been in- in mah life. 18.0 won it and it was smokin. We are usually a local 2d-3D but we were mid 3D. I am the post about Luther. If anyone would like to see video, I would love outside opinions on what caused the errors in the run. I think I know, but I'm open to any and all.
I just wanted to add that she walked right in the pen, came out sound and was a little body sore the next day but looks good so I am hopeful for continuing her career. Opinions on how much time to give one with arthritis off after a race? |

I dealt ok I think. I shook like a leaf and poor Sis knew I was losing my mind but she composed herself well. I kept focusing on my breathing to try not to spook her. She's good about walking in with her head down until I gather my reins to I was sure to keep 1 hand on the reins until I got to the alley. She gets the credit. I was a fruit lol |
