My Results: It does wonders for a horse of mine who had severe headaches, poll & ear nerve damage (apparently being earred down & severe wire tiedown).   Helped her calm down, I don't even need a tie-down, & chiropractor can actually work on her head/poll after 5 years of having to fight her.  Another very nervous gelding would dig a hole to China at the trailer - with it on he only pawed/dug a little spot so was an improvement.

Please tell me what groups people have them for sale so I can go buy some for my other horses at a discounted rate!!

I am not a believer. I think just wrap a polo wrap around their head.

I have had a handful of friends try them, most noticed no difference. One uses it.

Has anyone thought it’s a mind over matter thing? You stay calmer because you think the mask is keeping your horse calmer, but really you’re more relaxed so your horse stays more relaxed??

Yep, mind over matter. As I have heard all of my life, 95% of horse problems are really people problems. Hoods, supplements, different equipment, etc., etc. do not ever make a problem better. Knowing your horse and learning to ride correctly are the fix 95% of the time.

I have to agree with this- I know a horseman who I've had the pleasure of watching several clinics/lessons, and there's just something about him and his ability with horses to get any horse to calm down and want to work.

not saying products don't work, just agreeing so many things going wrong with our horses are human related. That being said I completely admit my abilities are not at the level as my friend.

Just my opinion but I think they are just another gimmick.  I feel like if people spent more time riding the fresh off their horses during the week, they wouldn't be so nervous/excitable at races on the weekend.  I have a friend who listened to a sales pitch from someone whose job it is to sell products and bought one for each of their horses.  Did nothing for them!  Of course their horses are on full feed plus who knows what all supplement, kept in a stall 24-7 and maybe exercised once a week....maybe.  No wonder their horses act like fools on the weekends.

This!! I don’t own a hood, nor do I feel like I need one. With that being said, my horses have JOBS. My husband pens cows for a living and my two good horses are in his three horse rotation. They get ridden all day a few days a week and I exercise them on the days he doesn’t have them.
