Do you need to go up a seat size live you do for other treeless saddles? I rode in my sister's in the past, but I can't remember what size she had
(ave neither does she
). I normally ride in a 15.5" tree'd saddle.

I don't know anything about the JBN's, but I have been riding in Bob Marshalls for 12 years and the whole "Go up a seat size" thing is all relative. I ride in the same seat size as I did in treed. It matters what the rider's preference is as far as fit. I'd find out what size you ride best in, not guess because people say to go up a size.

I have absolutely no way to try one beforehand as we don't have any tack stores and I'm buying used. I found 2 for sale-- one in a 15.5 and one in a 16.5 close in price and condition so I'm trying to figure out the best option.

I recently bought at JBN saddle and the seat size is exactly what I would ride in a regular tree. Let me tell you, I LOVE it!!! It sits you much more secure than the other treeless saddles. The only thing I don't like is that it is not the quality leather, etc. of the Bob Marshall's.

I ride the same as I ride in a treed saddle.
Rule of thumb from the dealer I bought mine from. The lower numbers also depend on how tight you like be.
Pants size 0-7 - 13.5
Pants 7-14 - 14.5
Pants 14 -18 15.5
Pants 18 up - 16.5

Oh goodness. I wish this rule was the case for me in all saddles! LOL I wear a size 10 or 12 and my thighs would be squished like crazy
(in the shape of a peanut
) in a 14.5. I have always ridden in a snug 15.5 or a comfy 16. Thighs, I tell ya! LOL

That's why is a gauge of how tight you like to be. When I was in size 14 jeans, I was also in a 15.5, but lost weight and was a size 8 in a 14.5.
